The Garden Route along the southern coast of South Africa, is one of my favorite places in the world. Whether you want nature, animals, beach, shopping, or a little corner to just relax, it should be on your itinerary. The forests in this region are known for their hardwoods, so it’s a great place to pick up some wooden trinkets. If adventure travel is your game, then there is a ton to do. I took this photo on the Keurboomstrand River which deltas into the Indian Ocean. The landscape is marked by plunging cliffs and deep thick forests. There are lots of hiking trails and, obvious from this photo, boat rides along the river. I first traveled to South Africa in 1989 and this part of the world remains one of my favorite, not only in South Africa, but the world. So, I had to select this as our Suh-Weet shot of the week.
