As a resident of Bogotá, one of my favorite museums in the city and the country is the Gold Museum. When people travel to Colombia, they often spend little time here and I fear they miss this gem of the country. Remodeled in 2008, the museum focuses exclusively on the uses of gold by the Native Americans, not the Spaniards. There are some great expositions including these shadow figures. Life-size silhouettes are decorated with pre-colombian jewelry allowing you to gain the perspective of what these ancient people actually would have looked like when they were working their bling. There are lots of great photographic opportunities throughout the museum. But, I have a bias towards these silhouettes and am making it this week’s Suh-Weet Shot.

You got me at ‘bling’ haha. Looks amazing. I’m assuming that only royalty wore them?
