There are many places as you travel around Colombia that will make you feel transported back in time. Cartagena, the coffee region, San Gil, all have their old-world charm. My favorite by far is Villa de Leyva. It’s why I named it as one of my top 30 places to chill on your career break. A mere 3-4 hours to the north of Bogota, tiny Villa de Leyva is great for all types of travelers. Want a weekend getaway? Want a day trip? Want to chill? Want to explore great hikes? Villa de Leyva is the place to go. At night, it is not uncommon for the fog to roll in. Cast against the lights of the large church, the plaza warms up as the temperatures drop. As I walked around at dusk one night, I happened to catch this woman crossing the plaza and a take a pretty Suh-Weet Shot.
